Special Issue Guidelines

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Research in Healthcare (JMRH) welcomes Special Issues that aim to bring together high-quality research on emerging, significant, and interdisciplinary themes. Special Issues should add scholarly value by offering readers a focused collection of articles that reflect the latest developments in the field.

Proposals for Special Issues are evaluated based on:
  • Scholarly excellence
  • Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope
  • Originality and significance of the topic
Proposal Submission

Proposals on any topic within the journal’s scope are welcome. Each proposal will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board. Decisions may include:

  • Acceptance
  • Revisions required
  • Rejection
Review Process
  • All Special Issues must follow the journal’s peer-review standards, ensuring transparency and objectivity.
  • Guest Editors assign submitted papers to reviewers through the journal’s online submission system for peer review.
  • Review reports are received by the Guest Editors, who make initial decisions on revisions and rejections.
  • Revised papers may be reassessed by the same reviewers or directly evaluated by the Guest Editors for a final decision.
  • The Editor-in-Chief may request additional reviews, revisions, or reject papers (in consultation with Guest Editors) if they do not meet the required standards of scholarly excellence.
  • Guest Editors have full access to papers and related files throughout the review and selection process.
  • Final acceptance decisions are made by the Guest Editors, while the Lead Guest Editor grants final approval for the collection to proceed to press.
Proposal Format

The proposal should be submitted as a Word document with the Call for Papers embedded or attached. It should clearly indicate whether it is a proposal based on the call for papers or drawn from the best extended papers of a conference. The Word document must include the following:

  • Names, affiliations, and contact details (institutional emails) of Guest Editors
  • Title of the Special Issue
  • A summary of the proposed topic (approx. 3 paragraphs) highlighting the need and justification of the Special Issue and relevance to the journal
  • A copy of the Call for Papers
  • A detailed schedule (submission, review, revision, finalization)
  • CVs of Guest Editors (highlighting expertise and editorial experience related to Special Issue)
  • Proposed list of authors and reviewers (with affiliations/emails)
Online Submission & Review
  • All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.
  • Submissions must follow the journal’s Instructions for Authors and Chitkara University Publications Editorial Policies.
  • Guest Editors are responsible for managing the review process.
  • Each manuscript must be peer-reviewed by 2–3 independent reviewers.
  • Papers authored by Guest Editors will be handled directly by the Editor-in-Chief or an Editorial Board member assigned by the Editor-in-Chief for review.
  • The Editor-in-Chief retains the right to request additional reviews or reject manuscripts that do not meet quality standards.
  • Final acceptance decisions will be made by the Guest Editors in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to cancel a Special Issue if submission deadlines are not met or if the journal’s quality standards, policies, and ethical requirements are not upheld
Ethics & Code of Conduct

This journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editors and reviewers are expected to:

  • Ensure rigorous, unbiased peer review
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted materials
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback

The research manuscripts must be reviewed by at least two independent experts. Non-research articles (e.g., editorials, commentaries) may be assessed directly by the Editor-in-Chief or an Editorial Board Member.

Confidentiality
  • Editor(s)-in-Chief is expected to respect and uphold the confidential status of materials submitted to the Journal and should ensure that material remains confidential while under review.
