Responsibility of the Editor(s)

Editors perform a vital role in journal publishing by ensuring the acceptance of high-quality manuscripts within the journal’s aims & scope. The editor of the journal is supposed to interact actively with the editorial board members and corresponding authors frequently. Editor(s) hold the right to take the help from esteemed editorial board members, and may invite other members if required. The editorial board members have to review a fixed, minimum number of submitted manuscripts every year, wherever his/her expertise is required.

Maintaining the standard of the journal and quality of accepted manuscripts are the main responsibilities of the editor, in addition to making it approachable to the target audience.

The editor of the journal has to be focused on:

  • The author(s) submission process and reviewing of manuscripts, so that journal publish quality papers
  • Clear instructions for the authors during manuscript submission
  • Adherence to double-blind, peer-review process and publication policy
  • Misconduct and dealing with complaints, etc.

Editor/Co-Editor

Together with the publisher, editor(s) are responsible for forming the scope and policies of the journal, and ensuring the content accepted for publication reflects important work conducted in the research field. They will select papers deemed to be of high quality, and fit within the scope of the journal for peer review.

Editor(s) are generally appointed by the Chitkara University Publication council

Editorial/Advisory board

Editorial board is constituted by experts appointed by the editor of the journal from within the journal’s scope. Individuals may be on several journal’s editorial boards and their role for the journal includes:

  • Reviewing submitted manuscripts
  • Advising on journal aims and scope
  • Attracting new manuscripts for submission
  • Submitting some of their own manuscript/s
  • Putting forward special issues topics
