The manuscripts submitted for publication in the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research in Healthcare adhere to the double-blind peer-review publication policy. Upon submission, the editor of the journal conducts a thorough screening that includes a meticulous assessment of plagiarism, quality, and relevance with the journal’s aim and scope. Afterward, the editor assigns the manuscript to the reviewers subsequently ensuring the anonymity of the author. A standard review period of 3 weeks is allocated with the possibility for extension upon the reviewer’s request, not exceeding 5 weeks.
The peer-reviewers diligently evaluate the manuscript and provide their assessments to the editor, who then communicates the reviewers’ recommendations to the authors and keeps the anonymity of the reviewers.
The manuscript submitted online to the journal receives acknowledgment of receipt from the editorial office within 12 hours of submission. The corresponding author is designated as the lead author and assumes responsibility on behalf of all the contributors (co-authors if any) regarding all decisions pertaining to the manuscript. Authors are required to acknowledge the source of funding if they have received financial support from any governmental or non-governmental agencies.
Plagiarism in an article refers to the act of incorporating content related to the analysis, discovery, or invention within the author’s original work without proper attribution. It involves the following plagiarism aspects:
The assessment of text similarity of various sections of a research article includes abstract, introduction, hypothesis, observations, results, analysis, and summary. Whereas, the author’s name(s), affiliation(s), email(s), keywords, acknowledgment section, and references are excluded from this assessment.
If the overall similarity index of a manuscript is up to 10% only then it can be accepted for the review process. Furthermore, individual source contributions should not surpass 1 to 2%, these thresholds will depend on the article’s length which is decided by the editor. Instead, the quality and significance of the research to the scientific community within the respective field take precedence. The similarity index is not the only criterion to consider whether a paper is eligible for peer review or publication. However, it is important to note that no manuscript will be accepted for the review process if its similarity index falls within the range of 10% to 40% and if individual source contributions exceed 2%.

When a corresponding author submits a manuscript to the journal, it is imperative that author(s) transparently disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may exist among the corresponding author(s) or co-author(s). Prior to the formal submission of their manuscript, the corresponding author(s) must diligently scrutinize the manuscript for any potential conflicts and explicitly declare them as part of the submission process.
Also, reviewer(s) assigned to peer-review the manuscript are advised to check for such declared conflict/s, in order to avoid any further conflicts that could arise before and after the publication of the submitted manuscript. Removal of author(s) name after publication
If any author requests to remove one of the co-author’s names or vice-versa, in both cases one has to submit the appropriate reason(s) to the editorial office at editor.jmrh@chitkara.edu.in. The request letter should have the consent of all the authors.
